Israeli army carries out fresh strike in southern Lebanon

(MENAFN) Reports indicate that an Israeli military operation struck southern Lebanon on Monday, resulting in multiple injuries. According to sources, a drone targeted a vehicle near the town of Baisariyah in the Sidon district, though the exact number of people hurt remains unclear.

Additional reports mention Israeli drones flying at medium altitude over the Iqlim Al-Tuffah area.

There has been no immediate response from the Israeli military regarding these developments.

The incident follows the deaths of two individuals in Israeli strikes on Sunday. Tensions in southern Lebanon have escalated over recent weeks, with near-daily air raids carried out by Israel, purportedly aimed at Hezbollah personnel and installations.

Since the onset of Israeli attacks in Lebanon in October 2023, which escalated into a full-scale offensive by September 2024, more than 4,000 people have reportedly been killed and nearly 17,000 injured.
